Parents prefer private schools for their kids' education

A report, released by the National University of Educational Planning and Administration (NUEPA) on Monday, provides further proof - if it was needed - of the increased inclination among parents to enroll their wards in private schools.

While the study points to an overall improvement in enrolment at the elementary level in the country during 2010-11, the figures are much higher in private schools than in government ones.

The report stated while enrolment in classes I-V in government schools declined in 2010-11 as compared to 2009-10, it increased in private schools during the same period.
