GHSS Rainawari celebrates UDISE Day

Students, teachers highlight importance of education in society

Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Rainawari on Wednesday celebrated Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE) Day and educated students and parents about the importance of education in society.

UDISE is software developed by Ministry of Human Resource Development and National University of Educational Planning and Administration (NUPEA) to make education accessible at grassroots to children in age group of 6-18 years.

Led by their teachers, the students held a rally to make people aware about UDISE. They held placards which read: “Education is light; Education is Soul of the Society; Education is the Agent of Peace.”

The school principal, Suraya Kakroo and teachers including Dr Shabana Aslam, Tehseena Maqbool, Abdur Rashid, Barkat Ali and Hilal Ahmad spoke on the occasion. They urged parents of school children to avail scholarship schemes available in different categories, especially for children belonging to educationally and economically backward classes, Scheduled Tribe and Scheduled Caste people. Some parents and students also spoke on the occasion and hailed the school initiative of celebrating UDISE Day.

The student rally also interacted with people residing in vicinity of the school.
